Split-level homes have multiple levels. They typically have stairs going to the living area and stairs going down to the basement area. These homes are traditionally smaller and perfect for being a starter home.
Different types of split-level’s
California splits will have three or four levels in the home. The front door will open up to a living space with a short flight of stairs leading to the kitchen, dining, and bedrooms. The master suite will be located on its own floor. Most will have finished basements.
Atrium splits will typically have three or four levels in the home. the front door will open up to a living space, while the upstairs has all the bedrooms and bathrooms. There will be a second stair case, which typically leads to a den or second living room. Some will have another level which will lead to a basement.
Side-to-side homes will have a main level with living room, kitchen and dining. Bedrooms and bathrooms will be on another story set above the garage.
